A MESSAGE FROM SHELDON ANDERSON:

Dear Friends,

After watching yet another legislative session where our Representative, Jeremy Kalin, consistently displayed to all of us that his loyalty first and foremost is and will always be to the DFL party bosses not District 17B, I have decided to run for State Representative in 2010. It’s never been more apparent that we need leaders in St. Paul that cut spending not raise taxes on families and senior citizens.  We all are expected to live within our means or accept the consequences.  Representatives like Jeremy Kalin, who recently cast the deciding vote in favor of passing a mammoth load of new tax increases to fund wants over needs, simply don’t get it.  In a time where we as a nation are being forced to do more with less, why can’t our representatives abide by this mandate?  Remember, one vote-Kalin’s vote, helped to set this unprecedented level of spending in motion. (HF2323 April 25, 2009).

Again this blatant disregard for those he is to serve is why I’m running against the incumbent Democrat Jeremy Kalin. Kalin won House District 17B in 2008 by 1,675 votes. John McCain won our district by 2,552 votes and Norm Coleman won 17B by 3,605 votes!  To unseat Jeremy Kalin will require a major effort on all of our parts.  As Mayor of Wyoming, Minnesota, currently in my 3rd term, I know what it takes to win an election.  My proven leadership skills, experience and reputation as a hard working, all-out campaigner has prepared me well for the upcoming battle to reclaim the House 17B seat.  My commitment to bringing the best possible service to the community I serve has and always will be my top priority and will continue to be. I’m proud to have brought forward the Sexual Offender and Sexual Predator ordinance, thereby protecting our children, families and neighborhoods from deviants. The City of Wyoming is only the second City in the State of Minnesota to adopt such an ordinance.

I ask for your support as I work to reclaim the House 17B Seat for the residents of District 17B.

I look forward to an opportunity to meet many of you and to answer your questions. I am available for discussions, would enjoy speaking with you or to groups, and I am open to your input or suggestions.

Sincerely,
Sheldon Anderson
